From Ellesmere Island to Cape Horn – Kitchener

Sunday May 6, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Larry Moser, clarinet
Daniel Warren, conductor

Travel with us! Right from your seat at this concert! Music Director Daniel Warren has taken flight for our season finale, which will be a musical excursion from top to bottom of the western hemisphere. Renowned Wilfrid Laurier composer Glenn Buhr brings us Alasha (Sky), while composers Brian Balmages and Robert Buckley evoke the arctic: Balmages with his Into the Arctic, and Buckley with his Land of the Midnight Sun. From further south we have Aaron Copland’s El Salon México, and from the southern continent, Johan de Meij’s knock-out arrangement of Venezuelan composer Moisés Moliero’s Joropo, and Argentinian composer Alberto Ginestera’s riveting Danza Final (Malambo) from Estancia. The soloist for this concert is our masterful principal clarinetist Larry Moser, performing John Williams’ The Terminal.

Tickets available at the door. Adults $20 / Seniors $15 / Students Free!
