This concert includes some memorable original music for wind symphony and a beautiful transcription of one Mahler’s most beloved movements, the first movement from Symphony No. 3. Also on the program: Mendelssohn’s Overture for Band, Fisher Tull’s Sketches on a Tudor Psalm, Matthew Arnold’s Prelude, Siciliano and Rondo, Howard Cable’s Ten Provinces March, and Guilmant’s Morceau symphonique, featuring Rachel Thomas on trombone.
