Natasha Campbell, Soprano
Daniel Warren, Conductor
Focusing on life’s significant moments: birth, education, career, love, family, travel, death and the hereafter, we offer a program of lovely and evocative music in many moods, including: Michael Tippet, Music for the Birthday of Prince Charles; Brahms, Academic Festival Overture; Holst, Hammersmith; Alfred Reed, Black is the Color of My True Love’s Hair; John Adams, Short Ride on a Fast Machine; Grieg, Funeral Music; and the finale from Richard Strauss’ Death and Transfiguration. A delightful addition to this program is Canadian soprano, Natasha Campbell. Her accolades include placing second in the 23rd annual Eckhardt-Grammatté Competition and first place in the Guelph Spring Festival’s Edward Johnson Competition. Natasha will sing selections from Bernard Gilmore’s important and pioneering piece, Five Folk Songs for Soprano and Wind Band.
This program is also being performed on October 29 at Grandview Church in Kitchener.
